DP One Year Anniversary Approaches

Loveland’s own “No More Homeless Pets,” PACFA registered, non-profit cat rescue needs your support as well as the community’s. We have been quite busy for a not-quite-a-year-old animal rescue: we have saved over 50 cats of all ages and have had 34 successful adoptions. We are now in the 501 c federal non-profit application process with the help of the Mullin Foundation. We have been awarded a generator from the Petfinder “Power to the Paws” program as well this year

We are also in the process of creating a food pantry for northern Colorado residents, who, like many, have been hard hit by the economy. We have already helped over 20 families with significant food donations, as well as other goods.

Two of our rescues were kittens that were thrown out of a moving car, taped inside a box up the Big Thompson Canyon, barely missing going over the edge into the river. One of our fosters witnessed this and brought them right to me. They have both been adopted and now are leading very happy and safe lives.

When a cat in our area was hit and killed by a car, leaving 4 eleven-day old orphans, the people called 2 different area veterinarians to see who and what was the best place for these orphans. Both responded, “Duncan’s Place, a cat sanctuary.”

They called me and I took them in, and they are now 21 days old and growing like weeds. I do this because I love the animals. Even though I am currently unemployed myself, another victim of the economy, I endeavor on, because the community needs my passion, and we need to have our own cat rescue in Duncan’s Place, a cat sanctuary here in Loveland, CO.

B.F. Kitchen Elementary held a donation drive this last May and chose Duncan’s Place, a cat sanctuary to receive their donations. One of the poorest schools in our community and the children reached out and helped homeless cats with their kindness to our organization. This speaks volumes of the staff, teachers, families of this school and their commitment to teach kindness to others.

We have participated in Loveland’s Pet Expo and Senior Expo events and would love to be invited to other events hosted by the community. We at this time cannot afford to pay for registration fees to events due to lack of donations and support and we desperately need your help to get Loveland’s own cat rescue the help it needs! We just participated in the Linnea Dick Memorial Walk the other day and are grateful for the donations received there.

We have the Summer Siesta Cat show, sponsored by NOCO LOCO Cat Club, coming up at the Ranch June 20, 2009, which we hope is a big success and will bring in much needed donations, volunteers, foster homes, and just more help from our community!

We have big plans but we need your help, so we can do more for our community!!!

We are also in the process of creating a memorial fund in the honor of a wonderful local man and big supporter of Duncan’s Place, a cat sanctuary, but we need your help with this as well.

Duncan’s Place is about to celebrate our first year anniversary this July, this is the month we were first PACFA approved and licensed. We are in the process of planning an event to celebrate the many great strides we have made in less than a year and want the community to be part of our many great endeavors past, present, and future.

Still More Thank Yous!

Running a non-profit is tough, and we rely so much on donations. A huge thank you to Drinkwell Pet Fountains and Pet Ag/KMR for their recent donations!

Also, we are so very grateful for the money raised at the Linnea Dick Memorial Walk!
