Whisker Chatter

Thanks-o-rama!

So many generous people have helped DP!

A HUGE HUGE thank you to Cindy Graves, she is our event planner for our big fundraising event on October 3 at Biaggi’s. Cindy is fabulous and her family is as well!!! If you have time to spare, Cindy needs help, committee, volunteers, sponsorships, donations… it’s gonna be BIG!

The Edward Gorey House donated 3 laser cell prints of Gorey’s art work to us, worth $150 for the silent auction at the event. THANK YOU!

We have a special needs kitty: Ching Ching had a pyometria and it was huge and about to explode and she could have gone septic and died if we did not take her in when we did. We were so lucky that Dr. Garcia at Highland Hills Pet Hospital did the surgery. She also did Gizmo’s spay and dental surgery, her mouth was beyond infected and all the teeth had to go. So a big Thank you to Dr. Garcia, Brandy, and Maressa over there!!!

Billie Colson, artist/owner of Independence Art Gallery, has already donated a pencil sketch of a beautiful cat to our event. THANK YOU! (My mom really wants this, it reminds her of our Dudley!)

Also thanks to Brittany and Kenny Oldham, just wow, they have helped so much and they baked an enormous amount of cupcakes for the bake sale and made the cutest holder for them.

Thank you, everyone! We couldn’t do it without all your love and support!

Good things keep happenin’!

Taffy got adopted by his foster mom. :)

Petunia got adopted with Diva. :) They love each other to pieces, Toons playing mom and all with the little one. Their new mommy has messaged me every day reporting their progress and how much she loves them.

So yippee, Gracie is the last of the original DP kitties, she is healing well, probably will be scarred though, but I tell her she is beautiful and she is okay with that.

We also helped another family over in Greeley–a stray found them and someone pulled its claws out with pliers(!) :( They already had 3 cats and couldn’t afford the expense of more food, etc. so Highland Hills told them about us and we helped them with the food, litter, and anything else they would need to keep him. So another kitty off the streets and with good people!!!

Saki, one of our death row rescues from Colorado Springs, got adopted by a great family. Yay Saki and her fosters Mike and Karen!!

Tiki got adopted by a great family! They love him and he loves them, so yay!!

First Vaccine Clinic a Great Success!

Our first low-cost vaccine clinic was a huge success! So much so that we had to turn people away.

We provided rabies and distemper vaccines for dogs and cats, plus low-cost microchipping, and in exchange raised much-needed funds for DP!

Many thanks to DazBog coffee, 1427 N. Denver Ave. in Loveland, for hosting the event, and to Dr. “R” from Mountain Wood Pet Hospital for providing veterinary expertise.

The family of Lizzie Freeman has made it possible for Duncan’s Place, a cat sanctuary to offer this service in her memory. We thank them for their generous work.

We will be doing this again on September 12, but at a different location. Mark your calendars!
