Spring has Sprung at DPs!

homedepotThank you to the Loveland Home Depot, and Manager Eric Campbell, for donating the materials we need to build a fun outdoor enclosure for the kitties! We will also have a small shed to house our food pantry. Thank you!

Thank you also to Brandi for taking over medical operations, vaccine clinics, etc… Brandi has helped us all along with vaccine clinics and is also a vet tech, good friend, and good people. :)

There will be a new shelter challenge starting soon on the Animal Rescue Site, so please vote for us every day, who knows maybe we will win some money that way!

The Linnea Dick Memorial Pet Walk and Adopt-a-thon is coming up on June 5th and we need help with this great event. They will need help in running the walk so please think about that as well and tell people to come, it is a worthy cause and a lot of fun for the whole family!

The NOCO LOCO Cat Show is June 19. It is an all day event and we could use any and all help to make this another great event.

Thank you all for helping Duncan’s Place be such a great little rescue and resource center, so we can help keep pet with their families!

February Vaccine Clinic

Our next vaccine clinic will be Saturday, February 20, 12-2 PM, at Gateway Feed on Garfield Ave here in beautiful Loveland.

Dr. Matt Jones of Loveland Veterinary Clinic will be donating his time to the event, and we can always use help from volunteers! Last month’s clinic was a doozy!

The family of Lizzie Freeman has made it possible for Duncan’s Place to offer this service in her memory. We thank them so much for their generous work.

We will be offering a limited number of vaccines, so it is a first come, first served basis. Please have your pets properly restrained, dogs on leashes and cats in carriers. Also, if your pet had a previous allergic reaction or you are afraid of allergic reaction please contact your veterinarian before getting you pet vaccinated.

Vaccines offered:

Cats
FVRCP (Rhinotracheitis/Calicivirus/Panleukopenia)
Rabies
FeLeuk

Dogs
DA2PP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
Rabies
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

No hidden fees or disposable fees, quick exam also comes with vaccines!!!

We will also be offering nail trims and microchipping for both cats and dogs.

See a Classic Movie, Help DPs!

On the big screen, one night only!

On the big screen, one night only!

Don’t miss this chance to see the classic romantic comedy Roman Holiday, starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn, on the big screen! It’s the role that made Audrey Hepburn a star–she won an Academy Award for her performance.

Come as you are, or dress as a star… there will be a prize for best dressed! Valentine games and door prizes, plus a great movie, are waiting for you at the Valentine Soirée.

Monday, February 15
7 PM
Reel Mountain Theatre, Estes Park

(Theater is located in the Stanley Village Shopping Center, just below Safeway. 543 Big Thompson Ave.)

Tickets are only $12 (click here to purchase), and 100% of ticket sales go to benefit animals via the Holy Cow Project.

The Holy Cow Project was started by DPs own webmistress as a way of paying it forward after getting into vet school at CSU. She is raising $1,000 for each one of 7 different animal charities, including DPs! If she can raise more than $7,000, DPs will get any excess!

It’s a fun and easy way to help those kitties, so save the date!

January Vaccine Clinic a Huge Success!

Our vaccine clinic was bonkers!!! So many people and pets!!! Thanks for spreading the word–these clinics really help DPs and are an affordable alternative for pets.

Big shout outs to Dr. Evette, plus Mandi and the crew at Loveland JAX for being so great to us and the clients. Thanks also to Becki N, Jackie R, the Duffield Family, and Brandi! Could not have done it without them!

In other news, we just took in a sweet kitty named Mr. Whiskers. He’s not good with children, so he’s looking for a home with some nice “bigger” people!
