September Update

Things are busy as usual, have 3 new little orphans they are so darn cute, smart, sweet, yummy. :) Call them the Three Amigos. They will be heading off to their foster family Monday, wish I could keep them longer, but they will do better with a more active home. They are a much needed shot of positive, I love them all but these guys got my heart going again with what I am trying to do with DP’s. Was feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.

We are getting a BOLT automatic laser toy–it “will have your cat pouncing, chasing & batting like never before.” Thanks to Brittany and Kenny for helping us get one of these, the kitties love lasers!!!

We have ‘inherited’ more kitties, so I have to really step things up to provide for more–the vaccine clinic next weekend and the benefit dinner on Oct. 3rd have to be successes!!! Might do a clinic in Windsor and Greeley per Arun’s suggestion/request. Hopefully we can cover costs and get out of medical debt again, with more kitties more surgeries, etc… And I thought I could take it easy for a bit! :)

The 501(c)(3) paperwork is with the law firm that the Mullin Foundation uses to get federal non profit status for us little guys, so paws crossed we will go through the process pretty quickly and maybe have official non profit status by year’s end. :)

Working with a gentleman that we took in his kitties, never told me that these kitties were his last links to his deceased daughter, he has lost so much, house, job… so I told him that I wanted him to have them back as soon as he got on his feet, won’t charge him a thing, so it gives him something to work towards and that there is so good in this world. Man alive these cats were messes–one had an infected uterus and was about to rupture, which could have killed her, and the other had to have most of her teeth removed. He came over the other week and spent an hour with them, he was crying, he had been through so much and was thankful they were here. Not saying that I am that great or anything, just that is what we are about and should always be about, so keep me in line if I ever wander from that.

DP’s was given cases of Friskies and Fancy Feast donated to us today and will get more in a few weeks, all good. Thank you!!! So if you know people or you use this let me know so we can get it out there to help more people. It is from a study from Purina to see if they need to redo their packaging to prevent dented cans.

We got a huge donation of product form 8 in 1 products: Nature’s Miracle cleaning products, toys, food, treats, lots of hairball remedy, just wow!!!

The Fitzgerald’s have helped in so many ways and deserve a huge THANK YOU as well, their gift basket donations, art, and they are terrific foster parents. Thank you Karen and Mike. Also thanks for finding my favorite hard to find addiction peanut butter TastyKakes, it’s an East Coast thing. :)

Skip, just thank you and I hope we can do justice to Lizzie’s memory with our vaccine clinics, my (our) thoughts are with you and your family.

Bob and Jan Link for their generous donation to help us with our fund raising dinner, For the Love of a Cat, and for your friendship and faith in me and Duncan’s. THANK YOU!!

Cindy Graves, what a powerhouse of all things good, thank you for doing all you do for Duncan’s Place!!!

My mom, if it wasn’t for her, well we would not be here today, for putting up with me during my dark hours and sharing in the joys. So when you see her out and about give her kudos too. I have dragged her to many events and she has been there helping behind the scenes to make sure we can continue our work. THANK YOU!!!!

We now have saved 70 plus kitties, don’t know the exact number of kitties we inherited. Have helped 30 families with both cat and dog food (through our food pantry, Dudley’s Delectables)–all this since July 2008, so we are doing some pretty powerful and good things for all and hopefully will continue to do so!!

THANK YOU to everyone that has helped in one way or another it really does matter and each act has effected positive and great changes for our furry friends!!
